I've made a list of a few things I want to do this summer. Some of them, I need to do, some are just "I wanna try this and I hope it works."
1. Lose weight.
I'm sick of being an ugly fatass and crying when I see my reflection. I lost 15 pounds over the semester which is okay, but it was way too slow. I'm going to be working like hell on it this summer, boosting metabolism, drinking more water and tea, and hopefully, since I have a job (orientation is Tues.), I'll be doing more and keeping it up. I don't wanna be a scrawny-ass toothpick, but I don't want to be a cow anymore.
2. Pay as much school off as possible.
With the job, I'm part time at about the same as I was getting at the library. Part time is maximum 32 hours a week, and we get first dibs on overtime. I was only working 12 hours a week at the library. Rather than the maximum 300-400-ish I would get for a full month's work at the library, I'll be getting more and hopefully paying off more school than I would be required to for the summer to make my payments during the school year a bit smaller.
3. Buy
this.
I know the previous post was about paying school off, but I think I'm definitely going to be putting aside money from work (not much) and commissions to save up for this. I've wanted it for a while and I really want to get it before someone else does and just hacks it up for garment-making.
4. Reconnect with old friends.
It feels like I dropped entirely off the face of the earth since I left for college. Almost everyone else stayed for one or two years of community college before going off, which I was tempted to do, but I received a REALLY good offer from Arcadia (With financial aid and stuff, I'm pretty much only paying room and board, along with studio fees and my own supplies.) and was afraid of losing it if I passed it up. I want to see everyone again, and yeah.
5. Do more good things.
At a craft fair I helped my mother out with at her Tupperware table, there was a pit bull rescue. I talked with them and, while I can't help out by fostering any dogs, they still look for help with fundraising events, meet and greets, etc. Totally signed up and realized I wanna do more stuff to volunteer. Especially since I missed doing it with PAW and all.
6. Try to get to Adventure Aquarium.
I have been stalking the aquarium's website since I found out they were doing the new exhibit. I need to get there ASAP. Even if that's the only vacation-like thing I do. Because. SHARKS. FISH. PETTING NURSE SHARKS AND STINGRAYS AND OTHER ANIMALS. AH.
7. Have a better relationship with my family.
So, I've learned that I get along with my mother and father really well when I'm away at school, but it feels like we want to kill each other. Hopefully with me not constantly being in the house, things can make me not want to just kill everything, but I don't know.
Let's hope I can tackle some of these. Especially #1.
